EcoKids is a programme of exciting and fun crafts, games and activities for children between the ages 3-8 and their parents/guardians.
Run during school holidays at Northfield Ecocentre, these 2 hour sessions are designed for children and their families to have fun, get in touch with nature and learn together about a range of environmental topics.
Sessions usually include some form of craft activity using recycled materials (true Blue Peter style!), related games and activities and if the sun is shining we might go out into the Ecocentre garden or Victoria Common for an explore or a mini beast safari. Talk to us about delivering sessions for you or book one of the public sessions.
EcoTots is the Ecocentre’s programme of 8 outdoor sessions with toddlers and pre-schoolers, introducing gardening to little fingers and including plenty of sensory experiences. Children will learn how to grow their own food, encouraging healthy eating and lots of physical activities while learning about their environment through fun games.
We can deliver the sessions at nurseries’own settings and/or at our several community gardens. The initial programme contains 8 x 1 hour sessions for a maximum of 10 children per session.
We are delighted to have been working with the Little Nippers playgroup in recent years. We started with re-purposing their old sandpit into an exciting bugs’ village with plenty of colourful homes for creepy crawlies and continued with some seed sowing and planting seedlings.
